The animation movie Shark Tale is a comedy produced by DreamWorks and Zellweger’s first Dream Works animation movie.
In the story, the protagonist is a young fish, Oscar (voice of Will Smith) who falsely claims to have killed the son of a shark mob boss. Oscar is a Bluestreak cleaner wrasse fish and an underachieving worker. Oscar dreams of being rich, but he is always in trouble and his plans for getting rich always fail.
Renée Zellweger is the voice of Angie, a marine angelfish who is Oscar’s best friend and coworker and secretly in love him.
In one of Oscars attempt to get rich, he borrowes five thousand clams from a porcupinefish named Sykes (voice of Martin Scorsese), but loses it in bet. When Oscar can’t pay off, he is taken to the Wastelands, by the jellyfishes Ernie and Bernie (voices of Ziggy Marley and Doug E. Doug) who are Jamaican bodyguards and henchmen of Sykes.
At the same time, the two sons of Don Lino (voice of Robert De Niro), the leader of a mob of criminally-inclined sharks are in the Wastelands. Frankie (voice of Michael Imperioli) is the older son of Don Lino and a normal killer shark who takes his younger brother Lenny (Jack Black) to the Wasteland to turn him into a killer.
But Lenny, although being a shark, is a vegetarian who is scared of admitting that to his father. When he and Frankie meet Oscar in Wasteland, Frankie orders Lenny to attack Oscar but Lenny fakes the attack. Frankie becomes angry and decides to eat Oscar himself. But as Frankie prepares to eat Oscar, an anchor falls on him and he gets killed.
Unaware that Frankie was the son of Don Lino, Oscar decides to take the credit for killing Frankie and for that he becomes famous and gets the title of “SharkSlayer” which of course calls for Don Lino’s furiousness …
